Here’s why people are convinced Gi-hun will become the next Front Man in Squid Game

Squid Game season two is the talk of the internet as everyone is debating what will happen in the next installment.

The season ended on a massive cliffhanger, but we haven’t got long to wait until season three which is coming later this year.

From what the final game will be to who the Front Man’s father is, all kinds of theories are circling social media.

One of the biggest ones says that Gi-hun will be the next Front Man, and there’s actually quite a lot of evidence.

The current Front Man won the games

The most obvious sign that Gi-hun will go on to be the next Squid Game leader is that the current Front Man is a previous winner. We found that out in season one, when a piece of paperwork revealed that In-ho won the evil games in 2015 as Player 132. Perhaps all winners go on to run the games, and history will repeat itself.

His morals are already slipping

It’s also a bit suspicious that we began to see Gi-hun’s morals slip and humanity disappear in season two. Previously, the character never wanted anyone to die, but by the end of the second installment we saw this start to change as he was willing to “sacrifice a few for the good of the rest” when the players began turning on each other.

The fortune teller made an interesting comment during the Mingle game, first saying that Gi-hun had already lived longer than he was meant to before adding: “You’re here for a reason. You were drawn by destiny”. Did destiny pull him back into the games for a second time so that he would become the next Front Man?

Parallels between G-hun and the Front Man

If you watch Squid Game again, you’ll notice there are actually a lot of similarities between Gi-hun and the Front Man. From saying the same thing to acting the same way, they have a lot in common, so perhaps Gi-hun would make a great leader after all.

The actor who plays Gi-hun didn’t deny it

Finally, Jimmy Fallon asked Lee Jung-jae, the actor who plays Gi-hun, whether his character is going to become the next Front Man. He didn’t confirm or deny, instead choosing to press both a circle and a cross button at the same time like the ones from the show.

Will he really be in charge of the next games? We’ll have to wait and see.
