It’s causing a massive debate, so what colour actually are the Squid Game guard suits?!

Let’s settle this argument once and for all

Squid Game was first released more than three years ago and after season two, people still can’t seem to agree on what colour the suits are.

The ominous guards that work for the evil games are one of the most recognisable parts of the Netflix show, with their iconic shaped masks and jumpsuits.

Some people say the suits are pink, while others are convinced they are red, so what colour are they?! Let’s shut down this debate once and for all.

Right, this is the real colour of the Squid Game guard suits

So, the Squid suits are… pink!

Squid Game’s director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed this in an interview with Vulture, saying: “The pink jumpsuit was designed to conceal as much of the workers’ identity as possible and still allow enough room for movements.”

He explained that they used the color pink on purpose to “remove signs of hostility” and “match the colors of the fairy-tale-like set”.

If you needed any more convincing, the true colour is also revealed at the start of season two when Player 196, the first victim killed in Red Light Green Light, talks about how much she loves the guards’ suits because they are pink.

It’s causing a massive debate online after season two

Online, the colour of the jumpsuits has caused a massive debate. It’s like the blue and black dress all over again!

Some people are convinced they are red.

Others say they are definitely pink.

Some people even have a theory that the producers changed the shade of the suits between seasons one and two to make them more pink, but that’s not true either.

Hwang’s interview was from 2021, so they always have been and always will be pink. Case closed.
