The hidden clues you missed that Squid Game’s boat captain was a traitor all along
He’s working for the Front Man
Squid Game season two was full of twists, one of the most clever being that Sea Captain Park was secretly working for the evil games.
He was supposed to be helping Jun-ho find the secret island after saving him, but the boat captain got more suspicious as the season went on.
We eventually saw him kill one of the crew, confirming he was working against them, but there were actually loads of signs before that.
Here are all the hidden clues you missed that the boat captain was a traitor all along.
His response to Gi-hun’s tracker
When Jun-ho told Captain Park that Gi-hun had the chip in his tooth and showed him the tracker on his phone, he instantly started spinning a dial on his steering wheel as if he was sending a message to the Front Man. After that, the tracker suddenly disappeared as the people behind the Squid Game removed it from his tooth.
No reaction to the huge explosion
When the boat crew opened the hatch to the tunnels that lead inside the Squid Game, they set off a massive explosion that injured one of the men. You could see this explosion all the way from the boat and the captain weirdly had no reaction and just stood there with his arms crossed, as if he knew that was going to happen.
He was leading Jun-ho away
Most Read
At the start, we found out that Jun-ho and the captain had been searching for the Squid Game island for two whole years. However, they were only looking inside a 10 km radius, and there aren’t many islands in that area – so it should have been easy to find. The boat guy was obviously intentionally leading him away.
That look of complete worry
When Jun-ho said he was ready to give up as they couldn’t find the island, the captain looked at him with complete worry because if he went to find the island on his own, he’d literally find it straight away. It was the captain’s job to stray him off course, but he wouldn’t be able to continue doing that if Jun-ho quit the mission.
People are convinced that as well as being an informant for the Squid Game, the boat captain is the one who takes away the dead bodies and harvested organs. We’ll have to wait until season three, which is coming later this year, to find out.
