Basic or banging? Here’s what your top artist on Spotify Wrapped 2024 says about you

Chappell Roan girlies, don’t ever change

Thank the heavens! Spotify Wrapped 2024 is finally here. If you’re like me, your Wrapped is filled with pop girlies and went very espresso-depresso from Taylor’s Tortured Poets Department to Sabrina’s Short ‘N Sweet. But one artist has to take the crown, so what does your top artist on Spotify Wrapped 2024 say about you? It’s time to find out – prepare to be scathed.

Taylor Swift

If your top artist was Taylor Swift this year, I’m sorry to say that you are a little bit basic. There’s nothing wrong with being basic, and you still have amazing taste, but Taylor was the number one streamed artist in the UK this year. She’s been over to visit on her phenomenal Eras Tour, and I’ll bet you either went or tried to get tickets. However, her new album was very depressing so I hope you’re not in the Tortured Poets state of mind anymore. Sending you thoughts and prayers.

Charli XCX

If you’re a Charli XCX stan and she made it as your top artist this year, I can guarantee you’ve been a fan before Brat and you’re over the moon to see her amazing career success this year. You’ve definitely been in your messy party girl era and there’s a high likelihood you’re a uni student too. I’m jealous of all your Brat summers!

The Weeknd

If The Weeknd was your Spotify Wrapped 2024 top artist, you have great taste and you’re a very stable person to be around. Although The Weeknd’s music can be very turbulent, he’s that guy who’s always in the charts, always in the Spotify Wrapped most streamed artists, and always slaying his music game. He hasn’t released a bad song in years – or ever, for that matter – and you can always rely on his tracks to be there for you when you need them. In The Weeknd we trust!

Eminem

If Eminem was your top artist this year you like the classics, and you also think you’re cool for it. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Eminem, but could I listen to him enough to make him my top 10 artist? I’d probably go mental. Instead of easy listening on your morning commute, you were pondering questions of society and appearances while blasting The Real Slim Shady. I can imagine you’re a hater on Twitter most of the time but you’re probably on the right side of whatever you’re arguing, because there IS no argument – Eminem is king.

Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan was such a staple of music this year, and I expect so many of the girlies will have Chappell as their number one artist. If this is the case, you are literally perfect and I have no comments, except you probably like to get into an argument every now and then. Don’t tell the others, but you have the best taste out of everyone on this list.

Sam Fender

Sam Fender fans are some of the most wholesome people ever, just like him. If you get Sam as your top artist on Spotify Wrapped 2024, you deserve the world. You’re probably reading this while cosy on the sofa with a hot chocolate watching a comfort film or something. You definitely also strike me as someone who posts acoustic covers on YouTube.

Sabrina Carpenter

You and the Chappell Roan girlies are tied for the coolest girlie alive award because Espresso literally defined this year. You’re flirty, you’re fun and you’ve had it up to here with the men in your life. My advice to you Sabrina queens would be to keep thriving and having fun with your friends. Men ain’t s**t!

Billie Eilish

If you loved Billie Eilish this year, you have exceptional choice in music. Billie’s new album was a divine listen, and if you weren’t a fan before, you definitely are now. You’re probably the more reserved type, not a big night out person and a lover, not a fighter. You’re also either wifed up and love Birds Of A Feather or incredibly single and love, well, the rest of the album.

Rihanna

If your top artist on Spotify Wrapped 2024 was Rihanna, then girl you need to learn to move on. Rihanna hasn’t released a new album since 2016, wake up! You are the type of person to have a crush for years and never move on. You’re a daydreamer who hates reality and doesn’t ever want to get a job. I wish we could all spend our days living like the baddie Rihanna, but unfortunately, life doesn’t work like that.
