All the evidence Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri are starring in an Emily Henry book adaptation

It was a big weekend for all the insufferable girlies when Ayo Edebiri posted a new photo of her with Paul Mescal for St Patrick’s Day. Everyone’s favourite Irish person and honorary Irish person have been pictured together before, but the latest photo has set off all sorts of rumours, including dating and otherwise.

But, people have been absolutely losing their MINDS after BookTok icon and author Emily Henry reposted the photo, starting rumours that Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri are going to star opposite each other in a film adaptation of one of her books. Emily Henry is an author most known for her romance books Beach Read,  You and Me on Vacation, Book Lovers and Happy Place. They’re a firm cult TikTok favourite and plans have been in place for adaptations of her books for a long time and the script for Beach Read has just been finished. So could we see Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri starring in one of these adaptations? This is why people think so.

As if we weren’t all feral enough when we were aimlessly scrolling Instagram and came across this life-changing picture, the queen of BookTok herself, Emily Henry actually reposted the photo on her story with no caption. The photo has led to a load of rumours about Paul and Ayo whether that’s an actual relationship or a working relationship, but since Emily Henry reshared the photo everyone is convinced they’ve been confirmed to be starring in an Emily Henry romance film together.

Paul Mescal’s most recent role was, of course, alongside Andrew Scott in All of Us Strangers. But before that he low-key changed lives in Aftersun. This was produced by production company Tango, which guess what, is set to be adapting a Book Lovers film!!

The way Paul manifested his previous relationship with Phoebe Bridgers? Yeah, well he might have already manifested a film with Ayo. Speaking to Awards Watch last year, he said: “Comedy scares me deeply because I think I saw Bottoms recently and I was in awe of how they do that. That’s one of those I leave the cinema and I’m incredibly jealous and frightened of everybody’s talents involved with that film. But I think in the next five years I’m going to set myself a challenge to do maybe a rom-com with Ayo [Edebiri] or something like that would be cool.”

Okay so, not only did Emily Henry repost the photos but Yulin Kuang who is the confirmed director of Beach Read AS WELL as writing the screenplay for People We Meet on Vacation, also shared the picture to her story. You cannot convince me that this is a coincidence!! But which book is it? I need to know!

Obviously, nothing has been confirmed as of yet and Emily Henry might just be a massive Paul and Ayo fan like the rest of us but people are VERY convinced.
