Meet the Uni of Nottingham grad who is set to star in The Apprentice tonight
He was kicked out of NEFS for lying on his CV
The Apprentice is set to hit our screens tonight for a brand new season where we will get to see a whole new cast of plucky young entrepreneurs fight it out in a series of challenges hoping to win over Lord Sugar for a financial investment into their business plans.
Among the new line up of enthusiastic entrepreneurs is UoN’s very own Avi Sharma. Avi is set to be the youngest candidate in the series this year, hoping to demonstrate his enthusiasm and optimism in order to prove himself to Lord Sugar.

He graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019 with a 2:1 in Economics after the uni rounded up his 59 per cent average. Whilst at uni, like most econ lads, Avi joined NEFS, the uni’s economics society, only to be kicked out when he was found to have lied on his CV.
During his graduation ceremony, Avi danced and blowed kisses to his friends who were cheering him on as he crossed the stage. Stage fright is clearly not in his vocabulary.
After leaving uni, Avi worked in Barclays for three years but hopes that Lord Sugar’s investment will help him “escape the rat race of a banking job” boasting that he is the “hardest working rat” Lord Sugar will ever meet.
You can watch Avi on The Apprentice on BBC One every Thursday, starting tonight at 9pm.
