The Jug and Jester is to reopen under new management

It will open on May 22nd and be renamed Old Library

On Monday The Tab announced that pub company JD Weatherspoon had suddenly shut The Jug and Jester. The news came after the property was put up for sale in February of this year.

The pubs new owners, Stonegate Pub Company, announced earlier today that they have completed the purchase of the premises and will be spending £400,000 on giving the venue a fresh new look.

Stonegate stated that they would be renaming the pub The Old Library, as prior to the premises being owned by JD Weatherspoon, the building was originally Leamington Spa’s first library.

The company confirmed that they would not be cutting any job roles, instead they will be joining a further five employees to the team.

Final year History of Art student Diyora Shadijanova said that she was looking forward to the reopening so that “we can continue drowning our sorrows once more”.

The Old Library is set to open on Monday May 22.
