Tech blackout: crisis on campus
Hundreds left without internet
Campus has ceased to function today, as both students and staff find themselves left stranded by a techno-nightmare.
Internet access and external phone calls are currently unavailable, creating significant problems on campus.
The communications blackout started in the early afternoon and has continued well into the evening.
With the cause of the problem unclear, students and staff alike are unsure when normal service will be resumed.
Information Services have said: “the problem lies beyond the university campus so we are in touch with our service providers.”
They added an apology for the inconvenience caused by the meltdown, but this will be little consolation to students unable to access their student mail and crucial websites such as The Tab.
Many on-campus activities have come to a halt, including Air3 Radio which has been forced into hiatus.
Students have taken to twitter to express their displeasure:

I fear with the internet gone and none of Stirling University’s websites working that we’re in some form of lockdown
