| UPDATED

It’s ten at night and you’ve been working on that damn essay all day! You want to go to Dusk but you have to finish the thing! The same ideas, words, people are swirling in your head and you just cannot be arsed any more!

Essay writing and exam preparation is horrific and you need to be able to make time for yourself. Don’t remain cooped up in your room; go out and enjoy the things that Stirling University has to offer! For example:

1.  Sport

A good way to relax, and to distance you from work, is to play some sport. Being one of the top sporting universities, there is no better place to just play sport or go to the gym. With a variety of clubs on offer, from golf and football to ultimate Frisbee there are many ways in which you can relax for an hour or so.

2. Go to town

A change of scenery can help in relaxation. There are plenty of shops and cafes in the Thistle Centre. You can also go to the cinema over in Riverside and watch a new film, or go to Nandos!

3. Hang out with friends

Go down to the union, play sports with your friends or even go to their room and play the Xbox or PS3. Nothing beats having a laugh with your mates whilst playing FIFA 14 or having a pint. You will soon discover the greatness of procrastination because of them, providing you with relaxation as well as a distraction.

4. Hillwalking

The University of Stirling has gorgeous views from the Dumyat hill that sits up the back and is well worth a trek up there! Views of the whole campus and city stretch to as  far as the eye can see and provide a stress free environment with a wonderful view!

5. Hobbies

A vast range of clubs and societies are on offer to you at the University of Stirling. You may be able to practice your normal hobbies, such as music or writing, or you may try new hobbies and participate in things you thought had never existed, like the Assassin’s Guild! You can become better at your interests whilst taking the workload off you, and you can have new, enjoyable, experiences as well!
