FS smashes its charitable record
The runway stomping has more than paid off.
The catwalk has been strutted, the champagne drunk, and the Young Things more than sufficiently Brightened. But one month later, the FS committee has resurfaced to announce a record-breaking £28,000 pounds donated to the Association for International Cancer Research, a sum surpassing any donation previously made by FS.
The whopping 28k will serve to fulfill the remainder of Dr Gareth Inman’s research grant at the Jacqui Wood Cancer Centre in Dundee, a contribution the committee is personally engaged with having visited Dr Inman and the Centre earlier this year. The total donation represents a culmination of the year’s fundraising efforts, including the proceeds from Starfields, FS itself, and the committee’s sale of (particularly fashionable) shaving foam on Raisin Monday.
Director Alastair Ferrans said about the donation, “FS was an incredible conclusion to a year of hard work and planning and we’ve been overwhelmed by such positive feedback. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our guests who attended the show and not only contributed to the fantastic atmosphere, but helped raise such a meaningful total for our charitable partner AICR.”
