Union confirms ‘special guest’ is NOT Taylor Swift

Lucy MorrisThe Union today confirmed the “extra awesome… global chart-topping artist” destined to grace the LCR at UEA’s official Big Weekend after-party will be DJ Fresh.
The electronic music artist – perhaps best known for his Lucozade ad-featured hit “Louder” – will appear at 9pm on the evening of Sunday May 24, just as the official Radio 1 Big Weekend event is closing down.
The secrecy surrounding the Union’s announcement had provoked speculation the event would feature Taylor Swift.
The “big reveal” of DJ Fresh has instead left many disappointed, prompting some to re-post a petition started by Livewire hosts Daniel Allen and Holly Tuxworth asking Taylor Swift to visit the LCR.
Students who missed out on Big Weekend tickets, or who just want to see the producer of hits such as “Louder”, “Gold Dust” and “Gravity” live, can pick up exclusive tickets for DJ Fresh from the UEA Box Office between 9am and 12pm on Monday April 13.
