It’s back – BNOC of the Year!

It’s that time you’ve all been waiting for – BNOC of the Year is back and nominations are now OPEN!

| UPDATED

Everyone’s aspiration when coming to uni is to become a BNOC, or a Big Name On Campus. Only very few of us reach that stage, and of these few only one can make it as The Tab’s BNOC of the Year.

So who is the biggest BNOC at UEA? To help with your nomination, we’ve narrowed down some of the factors that make a person a BNOC. If any of these sound familiar, then get nominating!

What makes a BNOC?

1) IMMENSE POPULARITY

Everyone knows who this person is. You’ll see them walk past on campus, flanked by loyal followers, and mull over where you know them from – then realise you’ve stalked them on Facebook and that they probably don’t know your name.

2) FUNCTIONALITY

You often hear this person’s name mentioned in reference to their purpose in the UEA community – normally, it’s because they run a night (“Oh yeah, you know so-and-so, he runs night X at club Y.”) They may also be heavily involved in a sport or the Union.

3) OMNIPRESENCE

BNOCs have the tendency to be EVERYWHERE. You’ll see them all over campus – in the Square, in the Shop, even in the depths of Floor 01 in Arts. How they do this, you have no idea.

By this point there’s probably a name screaming out at you – so to give this BNOC the chance of winning the prestigious Tab BNOC of the Year Award, nominate them!

To nominate a candidate please email us their name to [email protected], or alternatively Facebook message or tweet us a name.

Nominations close Monday 28th April.
