Polys do it better: Northumbria nails student satisfaction

Suck that, Newcastle

The student lifestyle isn’t thought of as a glamorous one, yet our uni has been ranked seventh in a survey measuring student satisfaction and living standards.

Not bad…

And the survey carried out by Lloyd’s Bank claimed Northumbria had the cheapest student accommodation too.

But you get what you pay for, think some. Journalism student James Krezack said: “Lovaine flats were shit.”

And he’s not the only one to disagree with the survey. Emma Gallagher, Advertising and Media student, said: “Glenamara was a glorified shithole.

“Everyone was a big family though and there was always something going on, but the fire alarms were ridiculous at 5 o’clock in the morning.”

20-year-old Ana Guerra-Moore stayed in a more fancy halls: “Winn studios is fairly new but one of the nicest accommodations I’ve seen.

“It was modern and tidy but living in a studio by yourself is quite different to everyone else’s experience.

“My only complaint was how expensive it was to do laundry and the bin area was disgusting, it used to nearly block the doorway.”

Northumbria is sweeping the board for it’s accommodation

These results follow Northumbria’s recent success in the WhatUni Student Choice awards, where the uni was ranked 5th for accommodation.

Northumbria also managed to scoop the award for best city life on behalf of the toon.

Do these students look satisfied to you?

We will now raise a glass to the Newcastle club scene for guaranteeing the poly punters of Northumbria with one of the best nights out in the country.
