Homeless people in Manchester will be guaranteed somewhere to sleep this week

Beds will be provided during this snowy period

Manchester Contact Service for Social Care have confirmed emergency provisions apply this week due to the cold weather conditions in Manchester, which are set to have lows of -5°C.

Rough sleepers are guaranteed shelter from the snow by calling 0161 234 5001.

The general public has been encouraged to inform anyone sleeping rough and to get them to call the above number for a bed.

Fundraising has also started for the charity, Barnabus, who seek to provide the homeless with long-term tenancies and financial support to get them off the streets, by the University of Manchester Swimming Club. They are aiming to raise £2,500 for Barnabus in sponsorship money for the charity gala they will be hosting next Saturday the 10th.
