Police have arrested two males on suspicion of sexual assaults carried out near university buildings.

In separate incidents, three women reported being approached by young asian men on Oxford Road, Lloyd Street North and near the science buildings on Lloyd Street South.

The ladies, all in their 20s and early 30s, reported being approached by the suspects and  inappropriately touched.

Two of the attacks happened within 15 minutes of each other, while the third was two weeks later.

A pair of teenagers, aged 14 and 18, who match descriptions given by the women, are being investigated by police.

“These crimes have shocked everyone and I am pleased to say that we have now made two arrests”, said Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin.

“I would continue to appeal to anyone who either has information about these three attacks or has information about any other incidents of this nature to come forward”, he added.
