Leeds might be getting a ‘Game of Thrones’ style mini golf and bar spot

Mini golf is coming

Leeds may be getting an “adventure golf course” with props made by set artists from Game of Thrones. The company Jungle Rumble has applied to create it at The Cube building on Albion Street, but Leeds Council will decide over the coming weeks whether to allow the change.

Company owner Angus Wright said: “There will be a jungle-themed 36 poles. It will feature Tiki huts and Mayan-themed rock work done by the people who do the Game of Thrones set. It looks like an Indiana Jones film set.”

Lighting and smoke effects would be included, and would cater to families but also to students by selling alcohol. There would also be ten pin bowling and air hockey on site. If approved, the course would be the company’s fourth site, having already created courses in Bristol, Liverpool and Brighton.

Mr Wright continued: “We’ve been looking for a good site in Leeds for years. We’ve finally found what we think is an excellent site.” He added: “The aim is that it’s a place where families can go, then at night time it’s full of young groups of friends.”
