Body found in the River Aire in Leeds

A body was found after the emergency services were called to the scene this morning . A sighting of the body was reported to the police in the water near Neptune Street, opposite the Royal Armouries, at around 10:20 am.

A police spokesman said that the search of the River Aire had ended in the discovery of a body.

The body has been recovered, but has not yet been identified. Although it is believed to be that of Daniel Hirst, a man from Beeston in Leeds who was last seen on the 13th of April.
