Emily WillsonHungry students of Leeds can rejoice today in the news that we may just have the best kebab in Britain (well, outside of London).
The third annual British Kebab Awards have shortlisted popular student haunt Zulfi’s as one of the few finalists and will see it compete for highly acclaimed title.
The esteemed takeaway located in Brudenell Road, Hyde Park is known for its kebabs and is commonly filled with hungry students desperate for their greasy food fix on the walk home from a night out.
Zulfi’s was voted Tab readers’ best takeaway 2014 long before the British Kebab Awards recognised their excellence.

Third year food critic David Cowlishaw has described the takeaway’s kebabs as being “excellent” after eating there to test its lowly 1/5 food hygiene rating.
The overall winner in each of the British Kebab Awards categories will be decided by a panel of judges and will be revealed at the awards ceremony on the 7th January 2015 at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel in London.

Each vote counts as 2 points and the more times you vote the more likely your favourite kebab shop will get closer to winning an award. Voting will close on 4th of January 2015.
