Glasgow University running club burgled on uni trip in Portugal

Items worth thousands of pounds were taken from the Hares and Hounds

The Hares and Hounds team had their villa burgled on a recent university trip to Portugal.

The team had been enjoying a week of warm weather training in Albufeira, hoping that this would be a welcome break from university stress. Alas, the team were to encounter a different type of stress on the second night.

On the evening of Tuesday the 28th of March, whilst the entire team were out clubbing in Albufeira, intruders broke into their villa.

All but one bedroom was targeted. Money, cameras, a drone, various other electronic items and jewellery were just some of the items taken.

Students were shocked to discover that their bags had been overturned, the rooms all left in a mess by the burglars.

Police soon arrived on the scene however the thieves have not yet been found.
