Two men involved in a vehicular ‘fireball’ attack on Sanctuary

No one was injured in the incident

It has been reported that two men drove a car into Dumbarton Road nightclub, Sanctuary last night and set it alight.

Images and videos of the incident have been shared on social media with one user, Richard Dickson, reporting that the Volkswagen Tiguan was “reversed in to the club”.

The two suspects fled the scene in a blue Audi which was later found in the Lambhill area of Glasgow.

It has been confirmed that Sanctuary was closed and thankfully, no one has been injured.

Police Scotland have opened enquiries with the road being cordoned off for investigation.

Detective Inspector Mark McLennan has said of the incident: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are working to establish why this property has been targeted. Fortunately, the club was closed and there have been no injuries, however it is imperative we trace whoever is responsible for this crime.”
