The Drop editorial team apologise for their take on the events of yesterday.
The Drop would like to extend its apologies to all those affected or offended by our coverage of the recent student death.
We are still in our early stages operating as a news publication, and whilst we feel that our remit is to report news be it good or bad, we accept that the practices of national newspapers do not apply to us.
We considered whether to publish this story and reasoned that the nationals do it all the time, but we now realise that as a student paper, it was not our place to act.
We got caught up in the heat of the moment, and are profoundly sorry for the way we conducted ourselves. Our commitment should be to bringing you the news you need to hear, not to causing offence.
