The Durham Tab is recruiting and we want you!

We’re looking for new writers- why not apply?

Do you dream of going into journalism? Are you always the first to know Durham gossip? The first to make a meme out of everything? Then The Tab Durham is the place for you.

The Tab Durham is the first place to go for campus news, gossip and all things jokes. We are written by students, for students and have a great community of Durham writers.

If you haven’t heard of The Tab before, or simply want to find out more, keep reading to find out how you can get involved with us in Durham this year.

What is The Tab?

The Tab is an online student-run news site, with over ten million monthly readers and a Tab in every student city. Writing for us can be done on a consistent weekly basis, or in a much more relaxed capacity if you would prefer. The stories that you write with us will be shared via our Tab Durham Facebook page, which is liked by over 21,000 people including Durham students and alumni.

We break the biggest student stories at The Tab. Over the summer we broke the horrific story on the freshers’ group chats which saw Durham boys joke about competing to ‘sleep with the poorest girl’ and also wrote about the Durham student who tried to organise a mock trial for the murder of George Floyd.

The Tab’s main office (otherwise known as HQ) in London often picks up on breaking stories and good content published in local Tabs, meaning that some of the articles you write could be shared to the main Tab site, which has a national reach and is read by students at multiple UK unis.
