  • Katie is currently the Co-Editor in Chief at The Tab Durham where she manages the editorial and the writers teams as well as producing her own news and features articles for the site
  • Katie specialises in news coverage of Durham University, particularly the housing crisis and how the wider political climate has affected students in recent years
  • In her free time, Katie plays for the university waterpolo team and enjoys baking, painting and yoga


Katie joined the Tab during her first year at Durham University as the site's News Editor and has since gone on to become Co-editor-in-chief in her third year


Katie Heckels is in her final year at Durham University where she studies English Literature. She is currently writing her dissertation on literature of the US-Mexican border and intends to pursue this area of study moving forward
