Durham dispatch York in yet another Uni Challenge domination

…it was close for a minute there

Durham’s University Challenge team have knocked out York University to advance to the next round of the BBC competition.

The team, clearly hoping to replicate Butler’s Uni Challenge success at York two weeks ago, started strongly with the first two starters and bonuses going to Durham.

York managed to close the gap and with 3 minutes to go both teams were tied on 165.

After delivering an incorrect answer and losing 5 points things went from bad to worse for the inferior northern university.

Durham’s Daniel Morgan Thomas secured two more starters for Durham and, after another two incorrect answers from York’s captain, Durham captain Fred Harvey took a third.

The match finished with Durham on 210 and York trailing on 160, a score which saw York crash out with a very lacklustre goodbye.
