Hull disaffiliates from the NUS
They join Newcastle and Lincoln who have also decided to disaffiliate.
With the CUSU referendum on disaffiliation happening this week, Hull university has joined Newcastle and Lincoln in removing themselves from the national body.
The results for those who wanted to remain affiliated to the NUS were 476, with the disaffiliation vote almost two-thirds more at 811. The disaffiliation campaign in Newcastle achieved similar success, with a margin of 2:1.
This comes in light of the election of Malia Bouattia to the position of President, who has been accused of making anti-Semitic remarks, an allegation she denies.
The vote for Cambridge students closes on Friday 27th May at 4pm. Register your vote here.
With three universities now disaffiliated from the NUS, will this influence the decision of Cambridge students ahead of the referendum?
