In association with Clare Ents, Clare May Ball have managed to secure a powerful headline slot.

Blonde will be headlining Clare’s ‘the Orient Express’ on the 13th June.

The British pop duo played their debut live show at London’s Osloin early 2015, followed by a collection of huge Summer festivals including Lovebox and Parklife – and now they’re coming to Clare.

Blonde’s back story starts like many others – Leeds based student Jacob Manson was looking for an outlet for his production work which he created under the pseudonym Thieves. He approached a like-minded blog, Eton Messy, a YouTube channel which existed to promote new electronic music in all of its guises. Now it’s a mini-empire which also encompasses events and a label imprint as well as almost 290,000 subscribers.

Down in Bristol, Eton Messy’s Adam Englefield liked what he heard and so posted Manson’s track.  Soon after, Manson was invited to remix Englefield’s production project Beluga. They collaborated remotely on a bunch of ideas together over the course of several weeks and so BLONDE came (and stayed) into being.

Blonde received an overwhelming response to their first track ‘Talk To You’ which ensured them they had a project worth pursuing.  As Blonde gathered pace, their music evolved in all directions – a splash of house, elements of R&B, scare garage influences, and a whole lot more. Blonde are guaranteed to please a whole range of genre tastes at Clare.

In the process of working on their upcoming debut album, Blonde have received extensive Radio 1 support, from Annie Mac, Danny Howard, and Huw Stephens to name just a few.

Blonde’s 2014 single ‘I Loved You’ crashed into the UK charts at #7, and their follow up ‘All Cried Out’ peaked even higher at #4, and #1 in the Dance chart. Just last month, Blonde collaborated with the iconic vocalist from the 90s garage scene, Craig David, in their new track ‘Nothing Like This’.

The future is unwritten, but the forecasts suggest great things ahead for Blonde – another brilliant headliner, not to be missed.
