Simon Amstell Spotted Out on the Town
Our second celebrity visitor in a week, Simon Amstell was spotted out in Cambridge last night.
Simon Amstell was out on the lash in Cambridge last night, The Tab can reveal.
After his stand-up performance at the Corn Exchange – which was described by one student as, 'utterly hilarious – if he wasn't gay I'd marry him in a heartbeat', Amstell hit the ADC bar for some drinks with Cambridge's thespian community, before heading to Kambar on Wheeler Street, the watering-hole of choice of the indie kid and English student.
ADC eyewitnesses said he was chatty, charming and a little awkward – in other words, just how he comes off on television.
Amstell has embarked upon a national tour that sees him travelling the country until mid-November. This follows a successful stint at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He is best known for his presenting skills on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and hangover-TV favourite, 'Popworld'.
Cambridge seems to be ascending the ladder in terms of celebrity visits – Amstell is definitely a step-up from a former kids' TV-turned-who-knows-what-he-puts-on-his-CV – who will be next to sample the Cambridge nightlife?
