Florence + The Machine to play intimate Bristol Uni concert in Wills Memorial Building

It’s finally happening!

Ever since Evelyn Welch was announced as our new vice-chancellor last year, there’s only really been one question: would Florence + The Machine ever perform at the university?

The Bristol Tab can today reveal your prayers have been answered. Florence + The Machine are set to perform in none other than the Wills Memorial Building in an exclusive intimate gig for Bristol University students.

Announcing the news on social media, the indie rock back will take to the stage in Wills towards the start of the next academic year in November.

A since deleted tweet shows Florence is set to play at the university

Reacting to the news, Orchard Heights first year, April told The Bristol Tab: “I can’t believe it, I only actually applied to the uni coz I heard the vice-chancellor was Florence’s mum. I’m over the moon.”

Second year student, Cassandra, added: “I’ve spent two years pretending to like DnB. Finally I get to go to an event where it won’t just be a room full of people chewing away the inside of their cheek.”

The Great Hall in Wills Memorial Building has a capacity of 800 so make sure to look out for news about when tickets will be released.
