A rundown of the best Birmingham happy hours

Cause spending £10 on juice in a plant pot is not the one

With the busy first few weeks of term over, it seems a distraction from the stresses of uni is what the people of UoB require right now.

We’re all getting a bit bored of going to Turtle Bay and Las Iguanas for Happy Hour, so why not head down to some alternative bars across Brum that offer a different vibe at a very friendly student price.

Here’s a few of our suggestions:

Vietnamese Street Kitchen

Any two cocktails for £10

All day, every day

A perfect location to line your stomach as this chill yet stunning independent restaurant/bar. They have two sites in Birmingham offering a large variety of cocktails: One in the Bullring and the other a bit further afield at Resorts World. Plus, you could eat some authentic style Vietnamese food at the same time – what’s not to love?

Cosy Club

Any two cocktails for £10.95

4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday

Situated near Bennetts Hill, Cosy Club offers a relaxed vibe which is perfect for early evening drinking. Their ‘Teatime Tipple’ allows us to live our Bridgerton-esque dreams whilst being in central Brum.

Bodega

Two for £10

12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday. And ALL day Sunday

Also located on Bennetts Hill, Bodega’s exotic and vibrant venue brings South American cuisine and cocktails to Brum. As a bar, it’s one of Brum’s coolest venues and its unique style will offer an experience you’ve unlikely had before.

The Rose Villa Tavern

Two cocktails for £9

12:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Tuesdays and 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday through to Saturday.

Visit the quirky Jewellery Quarter where they offer more than just drinks. Every Tuesday they run a pub quiz alongside their happy hour – although, after a few cocktails, I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t put your best shift in the quiz…

Dirty Martini

Half price cocktails on their extensive range

2:00 pm to 8:00 pm – Sunday to Friday. 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturdays.

The home of the iconic angel wings which have featured in many of our Insta photos, with their cosmopolitan interior giving off sophisticated vibes. Dirty Martini is the ideal swanky spot.

Pitcher and Piano

Two for one cocktails

4:00 pm to 8:00 pm every day

For canalside views, Pitcher and Piano have a fabulous outdoor area as well as a spacious bar inside. The retro bar caters for relaxed drinks with friends and a pleasant night out for all.

Be at One

Two for one cocktails on the same two drinks

4:30 pm to 8:00 pm – Monday to Thursday, 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Fridays, and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sundays.

A lively venue perfect for pre’s before your night out, Be at One’s central location makes it easily accessible for all the best clubs around Brum.

Slug and Lettuce

Two for one cocktails

4:00 pm to 10:00 pm every day

If you don’t fancy going into town, then the Harborne Slug and Lettuce is a perfect alternative. You could even walk it, if you’re feeling extra sporty… she’s a runner, she’s a trackstar.

Lost and Found

Two for £10

Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Lost and Found’s classic external architecture offers a home-from-home, as the quirky bar shares resemblance with our campus. If this tickles your fancy, then this is also located on Bennetts Hill. Did someone say bar crawl?

Country Girl

Two for £10

5:00 pm to 11:00 pm every day

Would it even be a happy hour list without including our Selly star? This is the ideal place to go after a long and hard day working away on campus.
