Armed gang hold up shop on Stranmillis Road

A gang held up a popular shop with a hatchet, a hammer and a handgun on Saturday night. 

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses of an armed robbery on Stranmillis Road after three men stole cash from the tills.

The robbery occurred on December 20 at 8:10pm.

After emptying the tills, two men headed towards Sandhurst Gardens and the third Stranmillis Park.

Detective Sergeant Dolores Black said: “We are keen to speak to witnesses or anyone with information that could assist this investigation.”

“We would particularly like to speak to anyone who can identify the males involved or who may have spotted a silver coloured car with three men on board in the area last night.”

“The number to call with information is 101.”
