Students from Queen’s University have managed to battle their way to the quarter finals of prestigious game show University Challenge.

Representing QUB are students Gareth Gamble, Suzanne Cobain and Alexander Green, with Joseph Greenwood acting as captain.

These four clever clogs  were chosen after surviving the gruelling selection process held within Queen’s itself and have gone on to triumph in round after round, beating 130 Universities from across the UK in order to win a place on the televised show.

Queen’s last won the famously difficult competition in 1981 and hopes are high that the current team, who specialise in medicine, history, plasma physics and Irish theatre, will be victorious. The quarter finals of University Challenge will be shown on BBC2 after Christmas.
