Staff flown to Malaysia to hand deliver a Fellowship

And they refuse to say how much the trip cost

The University flew four members of staff to Malaysia to award a fellowship to a member of its royal family.

But the University refuse to say how much the trip cost to fly several staff members, including April McMahon, over to the idyllic South East Asian country.

Fellowships are usually handed out during graduation but the University “can’t say” how much money they’ve spent on hand-delivering one to Malaysia.

Four members of staff went to Malaysia

HRH Tuanku Muhriz was the lucky recipient, who graduated from the Uni’s department of law in 1970.

They have justified this visit as a publicity tour, stopping off in China, Dubai and Kuala Lumpur in order to develop international links.

This visit took place during an admitted “time of financial difficulty”.

Students are questioning the necessity of this trip when the University are making staff-cuts and other cutbacks.
