There were frightening queues on Friday

Pier Pressure saw the “biggest attendance in the club’s history” on Friday night.

The popular club reached its maximum capacity of 650 by midnight as revellers flocked there for Halloween.

From then on it was one in, one out, and an estimated total of over 1,300 people attended.

An official statement released by the club said: “We reached maximum capacity of 650 persons by midnight.

“It then operated a one in, one out policy for the remainder of the night before reaching a total attendance of more than 1,300 people.”

Everyone was out and about in town celebrating Halloween

Essentially, the club was filled twice over in one night – the best attendance on record.

But along with high numbers came horrific queues outside that would make Dracula’s skin crawl.

Geography student Jessica told The Tab: “It was the biggest queue for Pier I had ever seen. I decided not to queue as it was just too long.

“It was so busy inside, too. But it was fun, one of the best nights I’ve had in Aber so far.”

Those wanting to go to Yoko’s didn’t have much luck either.

Jamie, 18, said: “I stood in the queue and it didn’t move for about an hour. I haven’t got time for that, so I just went home.”

Abi Leach, a final year, added: “I forgot to get a Yoko’s stamp earlier and the queue was horrendous so I ended up going home early”.”

But town was still buzzing with some of the best fancy dress we’ve seen in a long time.
