Raygun’s family brutally slam Olympic breakdancing judges for giving her zero points

The family of breakdancer Raygun are refusing to let the Olympic breakdancing judges off the hook for giving her zero points and has pretty brutally slammed them.

Raygun went through three rounds of heats where she could try and rack up as many points as she could by impressing the judges with her breakdancing skills. However, skill seems to be the main issue here as after all that she ended up being awarded precisely zero points overall. Yikes.

Raygun’s father-in-law, Andrew Free, decided to tell the judges exactly what was on his mind and partly blamed them for her poor performance. He wrote: “It was a pretty stacked competition and the judges were clearly looking for a certain style of breaking which is not Rachael’s.

“Although they are supposed to mark five different aspects with each having the same weighting, in my obviously biased opinion they did not reward originality and musicality so she was up against it. The main thing is she represented Australia and breaking at the Olympics with courage and dignity.”

The top judge for the competition has since explained why Raygun didn’t manage to score anything, telling the Daily Mail: “We have five criteria in the comparative judging system. Her level was maybe not as high as the other competitors. Again, we’re using a comparative judging system. Her competitors were just better but it doesn’t mean that she did really bad. She did her best.

“She was representing Australia and Oceania and did her best. She won the Oceania qualifier officially. If some people are wondering how she got into the Olympic Games, she qualified from her region. Unfortunately for her, the other B-girls were better. That’s why she didn’t score any votes in her rounds.”
