But who is the Olympic muffin man? The swimmer who is there for the muffins and the muffins only

The muffin man is Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen. He’s competing for Norway in the Men’s 1500m freestyle on the 3rd August, undoubtedly fuelled by many, many chocolate muffins. He’s gone viral on TikTok for going on and on about just how amazing the muffins are in the Olympic Village. He even went as far as to give them a 10/10 rating and calling them “the single greatest thing about the Olympic Village so far”. He’s now got videos of the muffins holding him hostage, him sharing a sunset with the muffins and a full-on muffin thirst trap.

Are the Olympic muffins THAT good?

Describing the taste of the muffins in an interview, “They’re very rich, and I like that. Some people might find it too powerful, but they’re right up my alley.” He added that he would “never tire” of the “incredibly moist” muffins, with their lava centres and chocolate chunks. My mouth is watering right now.

The chocolate muffins are just some of the more than 2,000 pastry items that are served daily at the Olympic Village bakery, which is operated by Sodexo Live, a French food-service company. The company said the chefs were keeping the ingredients and recipe to themselves, but noted that they were sourcing 80 per cent of the total food supply at the Games from France and 25 per cent from farms within 155 miles of Paris, “so the muffins are certainly an authentic taste of France.”

But now the muffins have got such hype about them that other Olympians are claiming they can’t get their hands on them because Henrik is hoarding and hiding them all. I don’t blame him, to be honest.
