Here’s how Aemond finally dies in House of the Dragon because it can’t happen soon enough
Counting down the days
After the behaviour of Aemond in the last couple of House of the Dragon episodes, he’s almost overtaken Ser Criston in terms of how much I hate him, and let’s be real we all want to know when he finally dies. He’s such a devious character and I am holding him personally responsible for the deaths of two of the most wholesome characters in the show.
Luckily for us, if the House of the Dragon show stays true to how Aemond dies in the books then it’ll be one of the most epic episodes we’ve seen so far. And one that will include not only the death of Aemond but three other characters as well. So, let’s find out how he finally dies in the House of the Dragon books.
There’s been a long standing rivalry between Daemon and Aemond, and it eventually all comes to a head and the two decide to battle it out. Daemon asks Aemond to come to Harrenhal and fight him, and after 13 days he finally shows up. The epic duel takes place above the largest lake in Westeros called God’s Eye with both men saddling up on their dragons.
Aemond physically chains himself to Vhagar so he doesn’t fall off him whilst Daemon doesn’t attach himself to Caraxes. The two dragons start ripping each other apart, and Daemon takes the opportunity to jump from Caraxes to Vhagar before stabbing his sword through Aemond’s only remaining eye. This kills Aemond and in the process, both dragons also die from the trauma of the fall. Whilst Daemon’s body is never found it’s assumed he also perished, but some fans think he could have gone on to become the Night King!
