Jailed rappers and fraudsters: A rundown of all the Love Islanders who have dated criminals
The bar is in hell
When a new series of Love Island is on, the Islanders all seem to talk about their exes and previous relationships – so why have so few disclosed that they have criminal former flames?
From fraudsters to musicians who got banged up, it seems like a fair few of the Love Island gals have got involved with people on the wrong side of the law.
Here’s a rundown of all previous Love Island cast members who have criminal exes.
Shaughna Phillips
Since Love Island 2020, Shaughna Phillips has welcomed a child with a man called Billy Webb. But, just two months before her due date, the father of her unborn child was arrested. According to The Sun, the police allegedly “recovered cocaine and MDMA before a follow-up search at a nearby address revealed a larger haul of illicit substances – leading to the 29-year-old’s arrest.”
The couple had been in a relationship since 2020, and in October 2022, Shaughna announced they were expecting their first child together. Shaughna had previously said she and Billy had known each other “for years” before they got into a relationship. The ex-Islander made the decision to keep her relationship private because he “didn’t want to be in the public eye.”
Shaughna has since welcomed a little girl called Lucia and is currently single after splitting from Billy Webb – after he was arrested and charged with the drug offences.
Kady McDermott
Most Read
When Kady came back as a bombshell during Love Island 2023, she was accused of having a secret boyfriend who she met up with just before returning to the show – which she always denied. It was claimed she had been in a relationship for more than a year with Liam Greer, who had been previously charged with money laundering.
When approached by The Sun about the relationship, Liam said: “I’ve got nothing to say about that.” A spokesperson for ITV later confirmed: “Kady was single at the time of entering the villa.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A police investigation by specialist officers has resulted in a man pleading guilty to laundering over £300,000. Liam Greer, 30, from Watford, Herts pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Harrow Crown Court to laundering £359,700.”
Demi Jones
When Demi was announced for All Stars, she was accused of still seeing her “secret ex boyfriend” who is a rapper, currently in prison. The Sun reported she broke up with Miami in 2022, but people speculated she was back with him.
However, a source close to Demi told The Sun: “To make it clear Demi was very much single when she entered the villa. Her ex has been in prison, so it is impossible for her to have a relationship with him. Demi has been very much single for the last two years, she wouldn’t have even considered the show if she was in a relationship.”
Georgia Steel
In 2019, Georgia Steel dated conman Medi Abalimba, who posed as a US Government agent named Miguel Johnson. She was with him for six weeks, and in that time he managed to steal £32k from her by cloning her credit card without her knowing.
Medi Abalimba bought her a diamond ring with money he stole, and wined and dined Georgia at fancy restaurants, picking her up in chauffeur-driven cars. The relationship came to an end when pictures were published of them together, and Georgia’s agent warned her he wasn’t who he said he was, and instead was a convicted fraudster. Georgia said she was lying in bed next to him when she confronted him about who he really was.
Dani Dyer
Dani Dyer was previously dating Sammy Kimmence, who she shares her first child with. Dani and Sammy split when he was found guilty of fraud and conning two pensioners out of £34,000. He was sentenced to three years, but has since been released.
Kimmence pleaded guilty to fraud after scamming Peter Martin, 91, and Peter Haynes, 81, out of £34,000 between 2016 and 2018. He claimed he would invest the money through his company S&S Trading Ltd but failed to do so. Sammy admitted to four counts of fraud against Peter Martin, who has since died, as well as a fifth charge against Peter Haynes.
Amber Gill
In 2021, it was reported Love Island 2019 winner Amber Gill had broken up with her boyfriend after finding out about his criminal past. She reportedly discovered Rory Colhoun was jailed back in 2017 for four years, after he is said to have beat up two nightclub doormen and left one of them seriously injured in hospital.
The pair had been pictured on holiday together, but were “in the early stages of their relationship”, which Amber ended when she found out about Rory’s past.
Charlotte Sumner
Charlotte Sumner, who very briefly appeared on the 2023 series as a bombshell, was reported at the time of her villa stint to “have romantic links to a convicted criminal on the run from the police.” MailOnline reported her ex as Danial Jones, who was jailed for brawling and wanted for driving offences.
According to a source, Charlotte had been dating Danial since 2020, and spoke to him just before jetting off to the Majorca villa.
