‘I’ve known him for years’: Shaughna’s spilled about mystery property developer boyfriend

This week, Love Island 2020 contestant Shaughna Phillips announced she was expecting her first child with a mystery boyfriend. She’s never said publicly who she’s been dating since appearing on the show, but in a new interview has shared some details about her relationship.

Whilst saying her boyfriend has opted to stay out of the public eye, Shaughna has told us more about how long they’ve been together and some interesting details about who he is. Here’s what she’s said.

Shaughna Phillips’ boyfriend is called Billy, and he’s a businessman and property developer

Shaughna is with a man called Billy, and he works as a businessman and property developer. She hasn’t yet shared any pictures with him, which she has said is to respect his wishes to stay out of the public eye.

In an interview with OK Magazine, Shaughna said: “It’s not my decision. If I could share him, I would. He just doesn’t want to be in the public eye. I have to respect his wishes. Never say never. I’m sure one day he will be out there because he’s such a big part of my life. But for now, he’s OK sitting in the background.”

Shaughna and Billy are currently living with Shaughna’s mother whilst they wait for the house they are moving in together into to be ready. “We bought [the house] earlier this year but it needs so much work so we’re hoping to be in the house by next year,” she told OK Magazine. “If it was just us two, we could probably move in and just rough it. But because we’ve got two dogs and now a baby on the way, it’s not doable. So we’re living in my mum’s garden in a summerhouse.”

The pair have known each other for years

Shaughna has been with her businessman and property developer boyfriend since 2020, not long after she left Love Island. “I’ve known him for years,” she told OK Magazine. “We knew each other as teenagers and we were in the same circles. But we’ve both had partners and it’s never really been the right time.

“We were friends beforehand and then we got together romantically around summer 2020. It was around the time things started to open again after lockdown and we could mingle. And then we went back into multiple lockdowns and he moved into my flat. So we kind of fast-tracked.”

Shaughna recently announced she and her boyfriend are expecting their first baby together

Sharing some clips of her getting her first scans, and telling friends the news, Shaughna announced on Instagram she is pregnant with her first child. “Our greatest chapter yet…,” she wrote on the Instagram post.

She told OK Magazine she is 17 weeks pregnant, and added: “It’s very weird to think that it’s not my little secret anymore and that everyone knows.” She also shared that, following her father Eddie’s death in 2016, if she has a boy she would like to name him after her father.

“If it’s a boy, I’m going to name him after his dad. I’m also going to give him my dad’s middle name, which is Edward, but people called him Eddie,” she said.  But, she did say she is not planning on finding out the gender of the baby before it is born.
