So, the reason Kaz and Tyler split up after Love Island 2021 is actually really sad

When we said get someone on All Stars for Kaz, this isn’t what we meant

Love Island: All Stars has just dropped yet another ex into the mix, this time being 2021 Islander Tyler Cruickshank, who was previously dating Kaz. The pair left the villa together as a couple, but broke up not so long after, in pretty sad circumstances.

It’s been three years since they first met, and now Tyler has shocked Kaz by coupling up with her on All Stars. He seems to think there are “conversations still to be had” whilst Kaz appears more switched off from what happened between them before. So what did go down?

Here’s a reminder of what happened between Kaz and Tyler after Love Island 2021.

Kaz and Tyler broke up three months after Love Island 2021

In December 2021, just three months after leaving the villa, it was revealed Kaz and Tyler were no longer together. They became the first couple from that season to end their relationship.

After finishing on the show in fourth position, it was initially reported Kaz and Tyler couldn’t see a future together anymore but wanted to remain friends.

Speaking to MailOnline at the time, a source said: “Kaz and Tyler have decided to go their separate ways after giving everything to make their relationship work. They haven’t got on as well outside of the villa as they first hoped and the pressure of their fans watching their every move hasn’t made it easy for them either. The romance ended on good terms and they’re still friends, who will support each other in the industry.”

Posting on Instagram, the couple added: “We are extremely sad to announce that we have decided to end our romantic relationship. We have had a fantastic journey and we will always have a special bond between us.

“We will continue to be very much in one another’s lives and support each other in every way. We are so grateful that we have shared this Love Island experience with each other, and we will continue to support each other’s careers. Life since the villa has been amazing, but it’s taking time to adjust to a new normal in the public eye.”

Kaz said she felt she ‘wasn’t appreciated’ by Tyler

A few months later, Kaz posted a YouTube video to her channel where she spoke more about what happened between herself and Tyler. She said she felt she’d been “naive” and “wasn’t appreciated” by Tyler during their time together.

“I learned so much from that breakup and period of time,” she said. “At the end of the day some relationships work, and some don’t and this one just didn’t. I was never faking it, I never acted up online for it, I was very much myself and I was how I would be in any other relationship, so I gave my 100 per cent and I don’t think I was fully appreciated but that’s just life. I was very naïve.

“I feel like when it all happened publicly, my God. It was really hard when a message was being put out there that basically said you’re not good enough. I found that really hard. I feel like ever since I have come out that has been a massive thing in general. Am I being sensitive? It is just really hard navigating and processing everything. I have lost a lot of my confidence the last couple of months and trying to gain it back it’s a journey.”
