Um, Ekin-Su says she wants to ‘distance herself’ from Love Island and star in films!

Ekin-Su might have only won Love Island last summer, but already she has revealed plans to leave that part of her life behind, and star in films instead. Cool.

In a new interview, she has said she doesn’t care about fame, and wants to “distance herself” from Love Island as she focuses on a career on the big screen.

Speaking to Women’s Health, the Love Island winner said with a new season of the show, she is aware she’ll be “forgotten” and is now moving forward with her career. “They always say: ‘There’s a new Love Island, there’s this, there’s that, you’ll be forgotten’,” she said. “But that doesn’t bother me because of who I am. I know what I’m going to do in life. And I know my dream.”

She then said she now sees herself “acting in films, playing roles and quirky characters, something that would make you think: ‘Oh, Ekin is not this,’ but then I smash it.”

Speaking of leaving Love Island behind to pursue new things, she added: “That’s when I start looking for an acting agency, putting myself out, you know, try to distance myself as much as I can from the Love Island scene and, yeah, be my own person.” She added she hasn’t bothered watching the latest season of the show.

She went on to talk about how she’s no different in real life to how we see her on the show, though, and said: “So, I think I’m always the same. Confidence-wise, if something pisses me off, unfortunately – even in this society, where sometimes it’s good to be quiet – I will say it.

“I was the same on Love Island. If I didn’t agree with something, I would have my opinion. And I’m still like that. The only thing that has changed is I probably don’t let things bother me as much.”

I guess we’ll have to watch this space for what’s next for Ekin-Su, films and all!
