A TV script supervisor and a sheep farmer: Meet the parents of the Love Island 2023 cast
Some of them are seriously wealthy
Even though we’ve complained bitterly that this could be the most boring cast of Love Islanders of all time, as the series is coming to a close, inevitably, we’ve got a little bit attached. And, as the Meet the Parents episode finally approaches, we’re looking forward to seeing who gave each Islander their signature personalities— especially farmer Will. So, in case you’re curious too, here’s a peak at what the parents of the 2023 contestants are actually like:
Jonathan and Maxine Clare – Tom’s parents
Tom is super close with his parents Jonathan and Maxine. When Zara lashed out at their son earlier this season and said “I hope your family are proud of you,” they spoke out to confirm they definitely were.
Gushing on his Instagram about his family before entering the villa, Tom wrote: “Wouldn’t be anything without my Mum and Dad, love you both to bits.”
Rachel Jenkins – Lana’s mum
Lana’s mum Rachel is already part of the showbiz world. She works on Hollyoaks as a script supervisor and apparently is friends with loads of the cast. And Lana revealed during her time on Love Island that she used to date the Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner. So, their paths crossing is really starting to make sense now.
Rodney Hall – Ron’s dad
Ron’s dad Rodney appeared on AfterSun just after Tanyel was kicked out of the villa and loads of viewers thought he’d secretly have preferred if Ron had coupled up with her instead of Lana.

“What a friendship, and that’s going to last,” he said of Tanyel and Ron’s connection. “That’s the type of person that he needs to have that banter. Tanyel, it was just fantastic, I can’t wait to give her a hug.” Okay!
Jenny and Andy Young – Will’s parents
Will works on his family’s estate (reportedly worth £1million) with his dad Andy and recently revealed to Jessie that his mum Jenny brings out their lunch after a morning of hard work. Will’s mum spoke out early on in the Love Island season when PETA called Will a “disgusting creep” for his TikTok videos with their flock of sheep. Drama.
Will’s parent’s have been married since 1993 and back in 2021, there was a sheep tragedy at their farm when 25 lambs were killed and another 20 injured in a mauling.
Jenny told The Bucks Herald at the time that she was in “complete and utter disbelief” over the death of the lambs and said she and Andy would restrict dog walkers coming onto their land after the sad attack.
Jill Fagan – Kai’s mum
Kai’s mum Jill became an instant icon when she went on Aftersun to chat with Maya Jama about the posts Casa Amor re-coupling. “I think they both [Kai and Olivia] found connections elsewhere,” she said. “Olivia and Maxwell work and Kai and Sanam work. I think they made the right decision.
“I don’t know what he needed to apologise for,” she added of Olivia’s accusations.
Polite Manhenga – Tanya’s mum
Tanya’s mum Polite didn’t hold back when she spoke to Ok! Magazine earlier this season. According to her, Shaq and Tanya moved way too fast and the footage of them together has been difficult to watch. “In the real world, things wouldn’t usually go this fast,” she said.
And when Polite and Tanya’s Aunt went on Aftersun, they were similarly savage of Shaq’s looks, adding: “Tanya’s type is medium handsome, medium good looking…She doesn’t like good looking guys!”
Carl and Michaela Fogarty – Claudia’s parents
Obvs not in the villa on Sunday but still worth mentioning, Claudia’s dad has a huge £39million fortune from his success as a super bike racer. Learning his trade from his dad and motorcycle racer George Fogarty (it’s a whole long line of nepo babies!), Carl earned his cash by securing seven super bike world titles as well as beating Gemma Collins and Jake Quickenden to become king of the I’m A Celeb jungle in 2014.
