Okay so is the ‘abcdefu’ audio on TikTok a real song?

Adds straight to playlist

Sometimes you just need a song that you can scream at the top of your lungs when you’re midway through a breakup and that current song of choice on TikTok right now is “abcdefu”. It’s a certified banger that everyone is using in TikToks as it just sums up that moment of anger during a breakup where you hate everything about your ex and their life. But who actually sings it?

If you haven’t heard the teen angsty vibe song it goes a little something like this: “abcdefu/ And your mom and your sister and your job/ And your broke-ass car and that shit you call art.” Honestly, never has there been such a great use of the English dictionary since Shakespeare.

People use the audio to accompany videos about things and people they want to say “FU” to, whether that’s an ex, their parents or people who say they wear too much foundation – basically it works for all occasions.

A sub trend for the song also involves people filming themselves smashing plates which have messages to their ex on them.

So who sings ‘abcdefu’ on TikTok?

The most popular song on TikTok right now “abcdefu” is sung and written by Gayle.

Gayle is a 17 year old singer from Nashville currently signed to Atlantic Records. The song originally came out in August this year but a few months later is now having a resurgence and has even landed Gayle in the Spotify UK top 10.

She currently has just over 60,000 followers on Instagram and just under 400,000 on TikTok.

The music video for the song has a very 2000s vibe to it and features Gayle and her mates going to her ex’s house and filming themselves on a camcorder.

Gayle has been releasing music on Spotify since last year and even has angrier and chill versions of “abcdefu” for whatever mood you’re in. Just going to go and add them all to my playlist.
