Love Island’s Lorenzo is drastically losing Instagram followers and there’s an embarrassing pattern

He might be our Love Island winner, but it would seem Lorenzo Alessi hasn’t maintained the hearts of many of us after Love Island 2026, as his Instagram follower count has taken a beating. He’s losing followers at an alarming rate, which might not be good for his career after the show. 

It’s been said that following his split from Julia, Lorenzo isn’t going to be focusing on the breakup and is instead pushing for a career in DJing and events. But while all of this is going on, his follower count is plummeting. Let’s dig into the figures.

How many followers has Lorenzo lost on Instagram?  

In the last few weeks, Lorenzo has lost 5,000 Instagram followers. In the last two weeks alone, 3,000 people have bid him farewell. He’s has only been out of the villa for two months, and prior to this period, had been steadily gaining followers.

So, what’s happened? Well, the change seems to have come on the exact day it was reported Lorenzo and Julia had broken up. On the day they were reported as no longer together, Lorenzo went from gaining followers each day, to losing them instead. That one day, he lost 610 followers. 

It took Lorenzo a few days to address the split, and he made a post on Sunday 13th September to talk about it all. This was one of his worst days for follower loss, and he lost 1,291 followers as soon as he posted. 

He lost a further 1,337 followers on Thursday 17th, then over 700 the day after, and 900 the day after that. On Thursday, it was reported that Julia was no longer going to be talking about Lorenzo, as she was focusing on her future instead and didn’t want to cash-in on the breakup. Clearly, a lot of people then assumed following Lorenzo wasn’t going to be worth it anymore. 

It’s been projected that Lorenzo will only continue to lose followers moving forward. He peaked at 628k, and now has 623k. Future predictions, at his current loss rate, have him at around 600k followers by Christmas. Yikes!
