Channing Tatum’s alleged burner account has responded, so here’s why it might not be him

Everyone has been trying to work out whether Channing Tatum is secretly behind an Instagram account called ‘Nonya Bidness’, but there are now some pretty convincing reasons to think he might not be.

The account first raised eyebrows after repeatedly commenting on posts about Channing’s former fiancée Zoe Kravitz and her new fiancé Harry Styles. It even appeared to be particularly invested in posts criticising the couple, including one where it reportedly commented: “Just here for the hate,” alongside laughing and popcorn emojis.

Channing was also previously the account’s only follower, making the whole thing look extremely suspicious.

But after the speculation exploded, the account has actually responded to people accusing Channing of running it, and there are several details that could seriously undermine the theory.

The most obvious clue is that the person behind Nonya Bidness has repeatedly denied being Channing. When someone asked the account to get Channing to follow them back, it replied: “I’m not him, boo, go read a book.”

Obviously, someone running a burner account could simply deny it. But the account’s behaviour has given people more to work with than just one denial.

Channing has since unfollowed Nonya Bidness, while the account has also unfollowed him. Shortly afterwards, the Instagram account disappeared altogether.

Another problem with the Channing theory is that Nonya Bidness has been commenting about a whole load of celebrities who have nothing to do with him.

The account has praised Ayo Edebiri for her role in Inside Out 2, writing: “Love her! And she’s just getting started”.

It has also called Jennifer Lopez “desperate” and criticised Jennifer Lawrence’s recent Instagram debut.

And Taylor Swift has also been on the receiving end of a comment from the account. When Taylor announced her album The Life of a Showgirl, Nonya Bidness wrote: “At the start of football season no less. God help us all.”

People have also noticed that Nonya Bidness has commented on several Gemini horoscope posts, which is perhaps not the most obvious thing you’d expect from an account supposedly dedicated to secretly trolling Channing Tatum’s ex. Channing is a Taurus… 

That doesn’t prove anything about who is behind it, but it does add another strange detail to the mystery.

There have also been theories that the account could belong to someone in Channing’s family, with some speculating it could actually be his mum or older sister.

Or, in the least exciting explanation of all, it could simply be a random person who happens to have strong opinions about Zoe Kravitz, Harry Styles and a frankly enormous number of celebrities.

There is currently no definitive proof that Channing isn’t behind Nonya Bidness, just as there isn’t any public proof that he is. Channing himself has never publicly admitted to running the account.
