This viral list ‘years in the making’ claims these 21 things are FORBIDDEN once you turn 20

If you do any of these you should reevaluate your life, apparently

People are debating this viral list of things you are forbidden to do once you turn 20, and they range from the understandable to the obscene.

First off, listening to the opinions of someone on Twitter is a little like asking a seagull to referee a picnic – it just shouldn’t be a thing. Still, this new viral list has racked up half a million views on one post, and 2.5 million on another.

It was originally posted by the most American name possible, Brock Schott Burner, who seems to be a college student.

“This list has been years in the making. Should honestly be 18 for some of these. Please chime in with more additions,” he captioned the post.

As for the banned things themselves, here’s the full list:

  • Run 2 mans (bro code for threes*mes)
  • Say “Slushee”
  • Vemno for $5 or under
  • Quick add on Snapchat
  • Sneaking into/out of a house
  • Go to the county fair
  • Leaving the group chat as a “movement”
  • Wear goggles in a pool
  • Hang out at a girl’s house for multiple months before taking her out to dinner
  • Unfollowing/Following someone on Instagram to get their attention
  • Use LED Lights
  • Being unemployed
  • Refuse to go to scary movies
  • Have Snapchat in your IG bio
  • Have AutoCapitalization on your keyboard off
  • Ask the waiter for recommendations
  • Vote people off of Love Island
  • Pyjamas in public
  • NO BATHS
  • Posting your own post on your IG story

Some of the points, like Snapchat, I totally get, but some of these were just ridiculous; I’m chasing you for the £2.50 you owe me no matter what. Some, like the “leaving the group chat” point, are lost on me.

What are people saying about the viral list?

The list was definitely aimed at men specifically, because there were a fair few dude-bros who actually thought most were good points. Still, fierce debate kicked off in the comments as Brock Schott Burner defended his list.

“County fair is one of life’s greatest pleasures,” one person argued, to which Brock replied, “This one actually needs a disclaimer. Rides are a no, food is an absolute yes.”

He took more points back as well, pointing out that goggles are fine if you’re actually swimming laps.

Further explaining his point about spending time at a girl’s house, he said: “We’re 20. Take the lady out with some flowers. Let’s grow up.”

I also think we should take a moment to highlight how seemingly straight men insult each other. One said the list had made Brock the “f*gg*t” of the day, to which he clapped back with: “Sounds like someone started their day with a soapy bubble bath.”

Help, I need a straight-guy translation book.
