Kelly Osbourne reveals the moving thing father Ozzy told her three days before he died
He wanted her to know this
Kelly Osbourne has spoken out about her father Ozzy’s death on a new podcast and revealed one of their heartbreaking final conversations.
Ozzy Osbourne died of a heart attack on 22nd July 2026, aged 76, just weeks after he had performed his final farewell concert at Villa Park in Birimingham. He had also suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s.
Speaking on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast this week, Kelly revealed that just three days before her father died, he told her to remember there was one man who “truly loved” her, because she always struggled to believe that she was loved.
“He sat me down, and this was about three days before he died, and he goes, ‘You can live the rest of your life knowing there was one man on this planet who truly loved you.’ I started to cry and said, ‘Please don’t talk like this’. Cause he said, ‘You know I’m not going to be here forever’. Three days later, he was gone,” she recalled.

Earlier in the podcast, Kelly spoke about how the constant speculation about her appearance in the media since she was a teenager had a huge impact on her and made her struggle to love anybody or be loved.
“Losing my father, it has taught me that there is such an honor in grief because I loved, I was capable, I am capable of loving someone so much that I lost my mind. I was a shell of myself. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything. I was just empty, broken in every way a human could be broken and completely unable to take care of myself,” Kelly said.
“I was at ground zero. I started drinking again. I lost my mind. I couldn’t handle it. I can honestly say today that I’m eight months sober and I have the most incredible people around me. I closed my circle, because I lost a lot of friends cause people don’t like sadness. They expected me to be over it and I’ll never be over it. I’ll never ever be over it.”
She revealed that she is now eight months sober and taking this time to be “selfish” and do all the things she’s always wanted to do. The first step was moving back to the UK, and she’s since enrolled her son Sidney into the same Buckinghamshire pre-school that she went to.
