‘She’s embarrassed of us’: Kelly Osbourne talks about relationship with ‘polar opposite’ sister

Kelly Osbourne has spoken out about her relationship with her sister for the first time in years on a new podcast this week, and admitted she thinks Aimee is “embarrassed” by the whole family.

Jack and Kelly Osbourne are well known as the children of Sharon and the late Ozzy Osbourne, but most people forget they have another daughter too, because she has always chosen to live away from the public eye. Aimee refused to join MTV’s The Osbournes to protect her privacy and moved out of the family home at 16. 

Now 33, Aimee is a singer who was part of a band called ARO, which are her initials. They released one album in 2022, but their last single, Against Mine, was released in 2022, and they don’t appear to be working together anymore.

During an appearance on the We Need To Talk podcast this week, Kelly Osbourne revealed that she and Aimee aren’t close and there is no chance of reconciliation. 

Speaking about why Aimee chose not to be part of The Osbournes, she said: “I can’t tell the whole truth because I don’t want to speak on behalf of her. We’re not close, but I do respect her enough to keep her anonymity. I believe there’s a reason for everything; it just wasn’t meant to be for her.

“But it was always me and Jack [Osbourne]. If I’m honest, my older sister didn’t really ever acknowledge me and my brother. She was just in her own world doing her own thing. And I do, to a certain extent, if I’m honest, feel as though she’s embarrassed of us. The whole family.”

Kelly said she’ll never “truly” understand why, but it’s always just felt like her sister was embarrassed of them, and she’s had to deal with the pain of not growing up with a big sister.

“We’re very different. Everything I am she’s not, everything she is I’m not. You couldn’t be more polar opposite. We’re like oil and water,” she continued. “I will tell you it’s one of the hardest things of my life that I never got a big sister. And I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you on my own. And I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever.”

When asked if there’s any “hope” for a reconciliation, Kelly instantly replied: “No.” She then added: “I respect her. I accept her. But we’re different. And that’s okay.

“If you’re not going to accept me for who I am and constantly be trying to change me and say horrible things about me and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”

Aimee attended Ozzy’s Birmingham funeral procession and joined family for a tribute at the 2026 Grammys. She also featured in the 2025 documentary Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, which delved into her father’s health issues and Parkinson’s, but little is known about her day-to-day life.
