Billionaire who paid actress $4.5million to marry him wants cash back after she sacked him off

A billionaire has launched a legal battle against his ex, after he claimed he paid money to her parents to marry her, but she’s now left him.

Cryptocurrency tycoon Justin Sun, founder of blockchain company Tron, has claimed his Hollywood ex Jing Tian upped and left him, after he handed over a $4.5million “bride fee”. Despite having a net worth of around $8.5billion, he wants the cash back. 

The 36-year-old is now suing his nearly-wife, having hired a celebrity lawyer in order to get his funds back. The story is said to have “taken over” Chinese news in the last few weeks.

According to local media, last month, Justin published a post on X titled “My Girlfriend Jing Tian,” and claimed he had transferred the money over to Jing Tian’s parents as a “bride fee”. He rambled on in the post, detailing how he’d had a crush on the actress since he was in college.

It was then alleged that he was forced to call off the marriage, as Jing requested a Hong Kong property registered in her name, and $50million to have a child for him through surrogacy. Uncertain of whether or not to pay, Justin had consulted AI, which advised him against making the transfer. The couple then reportedly split, and lost contact.

The tycoon, who is known for going viral with wild claims, then said the post was “completely fictional” but did add “any resemblance to actual events or persons is purely coincidental”. And it would seem some at least was real, as the lawsuit was very much filed. 

It was quickly reported the lawsuit had been launched, and Justin was seeking the cash back from Jing and her parents. “We dated with marriage in mind,” Justin told Wall Street Journal in a *real* statement.

Jing responded with her own post, and admitted to “poor judgment in men and insufficient wisdom” but said she “would never trade love or her soul for money.” She added that “time will prove everything”. 

The legal case has reportedly not yet been heard, so no outcome has been reached. Is anyone else confused?
