Your official guide to Freshers’ Week nightlife in Liverpool

Congrats on making it to Liverpool! Before you dive headfirst into your degree, you’ve got to survive the absolute madness that is Freshers’ Week.

To make sure you don’t spend your first term with crippling FOMO (or a bank balance of £0.00 by Wednesday), we’ve put together your definitive day-by-day guide to the biggest week of the year. Strap in.

The unis also have official events during the day and some evenings that are definitely worth checking out here.

Monday 14th 

Before UoL’s official Freshers’ Week, and during LJMU’s and Hope’s we start the list with TikTok celeb and social media legend Shoshi taking over Electrik Warehouse.

Expect total chaos, multiple rooms of music, and early-bird crowds getting their first taste of Liverpool night out culture.

Tuesday 15th 

Welsh footballer and TV personality Scott Van-der-Sluis is hosting Student crawl UK.

Advertised as the UKs ‘biggest student bar crawl,’ this is sure to be one to put in your calendar.

Monday 21st

Option one: The Raz

An absolute rite of passage for every student in Liverpool. If you haven’t been sticky-floored in The Raz by 1 AM, are you even a Liverpool student?

The vibe is 2000s pop, nostalgia, and classic party anthems.

Just don’t forget to bring cash! Andddd the queue gets massive fast.  Get there early or risk standing in the cold!

With £1 drinks and £1 shots, your wallet will thank you.

Option two: Tropiloco at Baa Bar

If you prefer house over pop, head straight to Fleet Street for techno, disco, and heavy R&B across multi-floors. £3 doubles all night.

This is likely to sell out. Grab your tickets in advance online to avoid disappointment at the door.

Tuesday 22nd

Option one: Skint

Tuesday belongs to Skint, taking over two of Seel Street’s hottest adjacent spots simultaneously.

Moloko has banging tech house and high-energy disco. The Peacock has Hip-hop, R&B, and live DJ fusion sets.

Option two: Student Crawl UK

They’re back for another Tuesday event! This time hosted by Gymskin.

Wednesday 23rd

Wednesday is strictly reserved for AU (Athletic Union) and society socials across all Liverpool universities. This primarily takes place at Hatch and Black Rabbit.

It will be pure social chaos with team initiations. Don’t forget to try the legendary Hatch Quad Vods for £6. Pace yourself!

Thursday 24th

Thursday offers the biggest line-up of weekly club nights in the city, so choose carefully.

Option one: Shindie

A student institution that never fails. Indie bangers, chart toppers, throwbacks, and multiple floors of pop.

Expect absurd signs, massive inflatables dropped onto the crowd, and unmatched energy. Alongside £4 doubles, what could possibly go wrong?

Option two: Heebie Jeebies 

Head over to Seel Street for three distinct floors of music. Home to the infamous, notoriously sweaty basement Techno Tunnel.

This is another busy night out, so queue up early. Heebies fills up faster than any other spot on a Thursday.

Option three: Level “F*ck Me It’s Freshers” (Freshers’ Special)

The UK’s biggest Freshers tour hits Level Liverpool for an absolute blockbuster event.

Choose this option for confetti showers, free F*ck Me t-shirts, giant lawn games, UV glow batons, free sweets, neon glowsticks, face-painting stations, stilt walkers, and massive brand giveaways.

Weekend 25-27th 

You’ve survived the main weekday gauntlet.

Fridays and Saturdays are less student-y but are always great for exploring Concert Square. Start in local bars and end the night with Dirty O’shaes or Fitzgeralds.

During the day, use the weekend to hit up the Baltic Triangle, explore the food markets at Baltic Market, grab a pint in a traditional pub, and finally unpack those cardboard boxes sitting in your halls!
