Six things genuinely worth leaving the house for this London autumn: A detailed guide
A cruise on the Thames? It’s what Lizzy would have wanted
London in summer is a movie, but in autumn and winter? It’s basically the start of any good novel.
The city is a web of cool, niche experiences beyond what you see in Zone 1. And now the light is fading, it’s time to cram these experiences in the diary before Christmas attracts even more tourists to the capital.
From cosy seasonal activities to slightly chaotic days out, there’s plenty happening across London once the weather turns. So rile up the group chat, pick a date and start booking – because “we should do something soon” is not a plan.
City Cruise boat tour

You’ve seen Big Ben, but have you seen it from the Thames? City Cruise offers a stress free solution to London’s biggest landmarks. You can tick off the London Eye, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge whilst eating and drinking – feels quite regal to me. It’s sightseeing, but better. Plus, it’s a great activity to appear mysterious, classy and a little bit extra on Stories.
@thetab_ No one’s making it out alive but at least they’ll all have a nice time on a City Cruise x #london #sightseeing
Be honest, it’s what Lizzy would have wanted.
Visit Oxford Street – but specifically Lush to smell everything

Oxford Street is crazy, but its a must-do London attraction. Lush Oxford Street is worth a visit even if you’re just there for the bath bombs, but its events are another reason to stop by.
This September, Lush Talks is also bringing together campaigners, journalists and comedians for an evening exploring Big Tech, online safety and reclaiming the internet – with plenty to discuss beyond the usual shopping trip.
Get overstimulated on Brick Lane

You’ve not seen London ’till you’ve survived Brick Lane. It’s best to go without an agenda and just glide in and out of its many vintage shops, street vendors, record stores and market stalls. If you make it without being dragged into a curry house, you passed the test. Bonus points if you stop and try a bagel.
Get fashionable at London Fashion Week

It’s completely subjective, which means there’s literally something for everyone.
London Fashion Week is the perfect excuse to dress like you know what you’re doing, even if you absolutely don’t. And you don’t need an invite to a major designer show to get involved: Keep an eye out for student shows and emerging designer events or showcases, which can be much easier (and cheaper) to get into. Whether you’re genuinely into fashion or just want an excuse to wear a new outfit, it’s worth seeing what’s happening around the city.
Go to Summit at Alexandra Palace
Fancy seeing London from above? Summit takes you 130 metres above the city, across the iconic roof of Alexandra Palace, with panoramic views stretching for up to 25 miles. Head up at sunset for golden hour views over the skyline, with guides sharing stories from Ally Pally’s 150 year history along the way. Perfect for a date, a day out with mates or just an excuse to get a different view of London.
Reenact the Fenton saga on Richmond Park
@laughinglark
Deer spotting on Richmond Park is a peak Sunday afternoon activity. Go with anyone who’s seen the clip and you’ll get stuck in a 10 minute conversation about the clip, then be over the deer completely and leave to get a coffee.
